The S1000RR was BMW's first true superbike, arriving in 2009 with more claimed power than anything in the class plus traction control and race ABS rivals lacked. It came in four phases: the original K46, the reworked K46 for 2015, the all-new K67 with ShiftCam variable valve timing for 2019, and a revised K67 with winglets for 2023.
Each phase was a real step, so there is a version for every budget: an early bike is cheap now and still ferociously fast. Buy on condition and history rather than year, because these get hard use and the optional electronics vary hugely between examples.
