The Stearman Model 75 is the biplane most Americans picture when they picture a biplane. Designed by the Stearman Aircraft Company (bought by Boeing in 1934), it taught tens of thousands of Army and Navy pilots to fly, wearing designations like PT-13, PT-17 and N2S depending on the engine and the service that ordered it.
