Nissan Skyline GT-R

Godzilla: a Group A homologation special with a twin-turbo straight six, electronically controlled all-wheel drive and rear-wheel steering, built to win touring car championships and rated at a number it never really made. An honest owner's reference to the BNR32, covering the oil pump drive that decides whether an engine survives, the ceramic turbine wheels that disintegrate near factory boost, ATTESA E-TS and why an ABS fault lights the 4WD lamp, the NISMO Heritage parts programme and its limits, and the loss of the registry that every production figure in circulation traces back to.

Known issues, covered honestly

  • The oil pump drive: machined flats on the crank nose rather than the collar two sources describe, why the pump inner gear cracks, and the three-way conflict over when the wide-nose crank arrived
  • Ceramic turbine wheels, which disintegrate at around the factory 0.7 bar, which variants got steel, and the cheap wastegate diagnosis that explains many overboost cars
  • ATTESA E-TS: line pressure that can fall to zero leaving a nearly rear-drive car, and ABS codes living inside the 4WD control unit so owners chase the wrong system
  • Establishing that the car is a GT-R at all, and what the rescinded United States import approvals mean for a given car's federal paperwork

…and the full survey guide, service schedules, systems, and parts sourcing in the complete volume.

Make it your boat.

We fold in your year, your engine, your electronics and refits, your hull number, and your vessel name and your own boat's photo on the cover. The book stops describing the boat that left the factory and starts describing the one in your slip.
